Green Acres Mall hosts turkey giveaway for local families

The Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream hosted a turkey distribution last week for local families in need.

The shopping center gave out 1,020 turkeys specifically through local organizations.  

State Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages and State Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick delivered these turkeys to the Long Island Cares pantry in Valley Stream. 

Solages gave out turkeys to community members in need at Holy Name of Mary Church in Valley Stream; Argo Civic Association in Elmont; Mill Brook Civic Association in Valley Stream; Locustwood/Gotham Civic Association in Elmont; and Parkhurst Civic Association in Elmont. 

Nassau Legis. Carrie Solages gave out turkeys to Gateway Church in Valley Stream; Elmont Cultural Center; and Haitian United Foundation. 

Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick gave out turkeys to the food pantry at Project Manna in Inwood. State Assemblyman Ari Brown gave out turkeys to Martin Luther King Community Center in Long Beach. Assemblyman Brian Curran gave out turkeys to Freeport Methodist Church. Councilwoman Melissa Miller gave out turkeys to Bethlehem Church in Valley Stream and Councilwoman Laura Ryder gave out turkeys to Oceanside Community Services. 

Nassau County Comptroller Elaine Phillips gave out turkeys to Roosevelt Chamber of Commerce and Bishop Mackey Tabernacle of Joy Church in Uniondale.

Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder gave out turkeys to community members at the NCPD 5th Precinct in Elmont and the 4th Precinct in Hewlett.

In addition, the JCC Food Pantry of the Greater Five Towns picked up 150 kosher turkeys and Gabriel Boxer of Kosher Response received 50 kosher turkeys to distribute to community members in need.
