Green Acres Mall recognizes nonprofit and resident as ‘local hero’

In celebration of the season of giving, Macerich’s Green Acres Mall has selected a local nonprofit and “local hero” to honor for going above and beyond for the community.  

This year the mall will be making a $1,500 contribution to Kosher Response, an organization formed during COVID in order to help and show appreciation for heroes on the frontlines. Shortly after, the nonprofit quickly began providing kosher meals for families and communities in their times of need. Today, Kosher Response continues to distribute food in the community for those who are struggling.   

Green Acres has also selected Nathan Khaimov of Kosher Response as its local hero. Khaimov will receive a special thank-you gift from Green Acres Mall in the form of a $500 gift card.  

Shoppers can join the fun at a special Chanukah Concert by Aryeh Kunstler on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. at 2034 Green Acres Mall, Sunrise Highway, Valley Stream, where Green Acres Mall will present Kosher Response and Khaimov with their recognition.
