NSUH Auxiliary raises $225K for NICU renovations
North Shore University Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit is closer to completing its renovations thanks to a $225,000 donation from the NSUH Auxiliary, a volunteer organization that aims to support the hospital through fundraising and community engagement.
The funds, presented to hospital administrators on Dec. 9, contribute to the renovation project’s second phase, which includes upgrades to three NICU nurseries and a family room.
To date, the Auxiliary has raised $900,000 toward its $2 million pledge, with plans to raise an additional $1.1 million by 2031. The group raises funds through a variety of events throughout the year, including brick and bench sales for its commemorative walkway, a car raffle, an annual golf classic and more.
“The Auxiliary is proud of how hard we worked on our fundraisers this year, and we so appreciate the support of our generous donors,” said Lori Ballen, Auxiliary president. “We know the great impact these funds will have on our tiniest patients and their families.”
