Long Island Nets host annual Education Day game

The Long Island Nets hosted their annual Education Day game on Tuesday, Feb 11 at Nassau Coliseum.

Each year, the Long Island Nets host an Education Day game for students across Long Island, when the Nets bring STEM education with basketball together, infusing curriculum geared toward elementary, middle and high school students throughout the game.

Students from 55 local schools across Nassau and Suffolk counties attended this year’s experiential field trip, including 350 students from Westbury Middle School, the most from a single school.

During the game, students participate in a variety of hands-on learning activities, including completing an educational work packet with lessons taught through the perspective of basketball, created and distributed by the Long Island Nets.
