Funeral home presents $1,000 scholarship to Half Hollow Hills High School West senior

Sal Mangano, president of Mangano Family Funeral Homes, awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Allison Park, a graduating senior from Half Hollow Hills High School West, at the Dix Hills Fire Department’s monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 5.

Park, a proud member of a firefighting family in the Dix Hills Fire Department, plans to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a physician and is honored to receive this scholarship that will help further her educational journey.

“Allison comes from a firefighting family that has served the community with distinction and she has followed in those footsteps by setting a remarkable example for her peers,” said Mangano. “As a strong advocate for higher education and an avid supporter of local fire departments that serve so honorably, I am proud to support Allison with this scholarship, recognizing her academic performance and passion for public service.”

The Mangano Family Funeral Homes’ scholarship program was established in partnership with select fire departments to assist graduating seniors who have a firefighter in their family to ensure the students have the resources they need to succeed.

The scholarship is part of the funeral home’s ongoing initiative to give back to the community and foster the growth of future leaders. To learn more please visit www.manganofh.com.
