Hotel planned for site of Boardy Barn in Hampton Bays

A proposal to build a hotel on the site of the former Boardy Barn in Hampton Bays has been presented to the local civic association.

The Hampton Bays Civic Association was recently presented with the proposal by Robert Salvatico, owner of the Indigo Hotel and Holiday Inn & Suites in Riverhead, according to published reports.

The plan is aimed at redeveloping the property at 270 West Montauk Highway into a 68-room hotel with a restaurant and bar and a pool.

The Boardy Barn was a popular summer venue that opened in 1970 and closed in 2021. In 2023, new owners reopened the spot as The Barnyard.
