HopWins takes top Brew’d honors at Craft Classic

Bay Shore’s HopWin’s Brewery took home the gold at this year’s Brew’d competition at the Long Island Craft Classic.

HopWin’s milkshake IPA called Dat Mango Tho’ was the winner in the commercial category in the contest that challenged brewers to produce a craft beverage with mango. Brewers had more than eight weeks to brew any beer or cider they preferred, as long as it incorporated mango into the recipe.

At the judging held at Heckscher State Park on Aug. 10, a husband-and-wife team of Jennifer and Tim Davis scored a victory in the non-commercial category with their Last Mango in Paris, a hard cider with mango and lactose.
