The Halal Guys opening in East Meadow

The Halal Guys will open its second Long Island location in East Meadow later this month.

The fast casual halal concept will have its grand opening at 2565 Hempstead Turnpike on Saturday, Sept. 21, the franchisee announced Thursday.

Known for its Middle Eastern and Mediterranean fare, The Halal Guys originally started as a food cart on the southeast corner of 53rd Street and Sixth Avenue in Manhattan. The restaurant’s signature dish is a chicken or beef gyro over rice, but also has other platters and sandwiches like falafel, and baklava for dessert.

The Halal Guys opened its first Long Island location in Farmingdale in 2018 and the franchise has been expanding in New York.
