East End couple donates record $10 million to hospital

Peconic Bay Medical Center received its largest individual donation ever during the hospital’s annual Benefit in Black & White at Westhampton Country Club on Friday, Sept. 13.

The $10 million donation was presented by Emilie Roy Corey, who is the chair of the Peconic Bay Medical Center Foundation’s board of directors, and her husband Michael. The funds will help improve access to the East End hospital’s primary and critical care services.

“We are greatly touched by the compassionate care and outstanding treatment offered by the wonderful medical professionals associated with the hospital, as well as with the dedication of the hospital’s leadership to building a world-class medical institution,” Corey said in a statement. “This gift will ensure that the groundbreaking care, resources and treatment which the hospital has earned a reputation for providing will continue both now and into the future.”

The Coreys are also the founding supporters of Pegasus House Palliative Care at Peconic Bay.

“Emilie and Michael Corey are wonderful supporters of Peconic Bay Medical Center and have played a critical role in the hospital through the years,” said Sherry Patterson, chair of the hospital’s board of directors. “Our efforts to bring world-class patient care to all the residents of the East End are made possible through the philanthropy of our generous donors, such as the Coreys.”

Peconic Bay Medical Center joined Northwell Health in 2016.
