Harlem Wizards visit Long Island to assist a good cause

A team of Garden City teachers, coaches and faculty took on the Harlem Wizards in a charity basketball game earlier this month.

Dr. Linda Norton, principal at the Stewart Elementary School, was the head coach for the Garden City All-Stars as they tried to defend against dunks worthy of the NBA Dunk Contest.

The annual exhibition game benefits the Garden City Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to high school students in the district. The nonprofit awards more than $25,000 to Garden City High School seniors each year and the Wizards game is its main source of fundraising.
