Polar bear plunge to benefit Cerebral Palsy Association

The Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County will hold its annual Polar Bear Plunge in Oyster Bay next month, a very cool way to help support a worthy cause.

This year’s 16th annual Polar Bear Plunge is slated to take place Sunday, March 8 at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park waterfront, with festivities starting at 12 p.m. and the plunge at 1 p.m.

The event, to be held rain or shine, features a DJ, free hot chocolate, coffee, tea, hot dogs and soup. Star Wars characters and the dancing polar bear mascot will also be on hand throughout the day.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the more than 1,800 children and adults with disabilities who participate in programs and receive services through the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County.

For information about participation as a swimmer or a sponsor, visit cpnassau.org or contact Pat Quinn, Community Outreach Manager at 516-378-2000 ext. 355.
