Jefferson’s Ferry offers new nursing scholarships
Jefferson’s Ferry, the South Setauket-based not-for-profit life plan community, is offering two new scholarship programs for prospective students to attend the nursing program at Suffolk County Community College.
Both scholarships are worth $2,000. One will be awarded to a high school senior later this summer and the other is being offered to eligible Jefferson’s Ferry employees and their children.
Applicants must be a resident of Coram, Centereach, Setauket (including East and South Setauket), Port Jefferson, Port Jefferson Station or Selden.
Jefferson’s Ferry also offers its employees a full reimbursement to complete Certified Nursing Assistant training at Northshore Career Training Institute in Ronkonkoma.
“We are always interested in supporting the careers of those interested in starting or furthering their training in the healthcare profession,” said Bob Caulfield, president and CEO of Jefferson’s Ferry. “These programs elevate the skills of our employees, help us retain and recruit highly trained health care workers, and overall support the larger community.”
More information about Suffolk Community College’s scholarship programs is available on the school’s website.
