Nassau’s July 4th parade rolls on in Old Bethpage
Nassau County’s July 4th parade, featuring a convoy of vintage military hardware, will be held inside Old Bethpage Village Restoration next weekend.
The parade, powered by the Museum of American Armor, is open to a limited number of spectators who can pre-purchase tickets online to reserve a socially distant parking space on the village grounds.
The museum hosts an operational collection of more than 40 vehicles, many of which will participate in the July 4th parade, including the legendary Sherman tank, the mighty Hellcat, halftracks, armored cars, Vietnam-era combat vehicles, and the M48 Patton tank.
The parade will also have masked living historians from the Long Island Living History Association pass in review.
Sponsors of the event include Squad Security, PSEG, Bethpage Federal Credit Union, Polimeni International, SUEZ Environmental, and others.
The gates to Old Bethpage Village Restoration at 1303 Round Swamp Road, will open to advance ticket holders at 9:30 a.m. on July 4th and all cars must be parked by 10:15 a.m. Cars will be admitted only with pre-reservation e-tickets purchased on a first-come, first-served basis and available for $25 at www.OBVRnassau.com.
