Long Island Restaurant Week is all about takeout

The winter version of Long Island Restaurant Week starts Sunday and this time, it’s all about takeout.

Since restaurants still can’t fully reopen, this winter’s eight-day event, which runs from Sunday, Jan. 24 through Sunday, Jan. 31, focuses on takeout dining.

There are 21 eateries in Nassau County and 45 in Suffolk County that are participating in this week’s promotion, offering a three-course menu for $25, $35 or $42.

In addition, organizers are encouraging visitors to the restaurant week website to make donations to the Independent Restaurant Coalition, which supports restaurants through legislative change, and Island Harvest, which provides assistance to thousands of in-need individuals each week through innovative programs and services.
