Eisenhower Park opens Red Course for its 107th season

The Red Course at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow is open to golfers for its 107th season.

Designed by prominent golf architect Devereux Emmet in 1914, the Red Course has a storied history. It has hosted Professional Golfers’ Association of America championships as far back as 1926. More recently, the Red Course played host to the PGA Tour’s Commerce Bank Championship.

The Red Course is one of three 18-hole courses at Eisenhower Park, with the White and Blue courses open all year round.

A new Short Game Practice Area is also slated to open in the park by the end of April. The newly constructed practice area consists of three target greens, three different styles of sand traps and two small fairways, allowing players to practice shots ranging from chipping the ball a few yards, all the way to pitches up to 45 yards.
