Merrick photographer wins top award for children’s portrait

Jennifer Beitchman, the owner/photographer of Peanut and Pip Photography in Merrick, has won first place in the children’s category of The Portrait Masters competition.

The Portrait Masters Awards and Accreditations are held twice a year and judged by the top portrait photographers worldwide. The goal of the program is to acknowledge, honor, and celebrate high-quality, professional work.

Images are judged on expression and connection, styling, composition, posing, lighting, overall technique and presentation, port-production, focus and storytelling.

“Winning is an incredible honor when I look at the combination of the panel of esteemed judges and The Portrait Masters owner Sue Bryce,” Beitchman said in a written statement. “Sue shared how fond she is of my winning image, her words were beyond anything I could have imagined for my work. This award reminds me that I am doing exactly what I was meant to do, create beautiful art with children as the subject.”
