Bay Shore mall to host Operation Medicine Cabinet

The Westfield South Shore mall in Bay Shore is partnering with the Suffolk County Police Department to help people safely dispose of unwanted prescription drugs.

Called Operation Medicine Cabinet, the initiative is aimed at promoting the safe disposal of expired or excess prescription drugs to protect seniors, children, pets and the environment.

The anonymous drug drop-off will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Westfield South Shore dining court. Medications–no needles or liquid–should be put in a plastic bag prior to disposal.
