Farmingdale to host ½ Way to St. Patrick’s Day Parade
After two years of missing its annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade because of the COVID pandemic, the Village of Farmingdale is getting a head start on the next one.
Though it is still six months until the official holiday in March, Farmingdale will hold a ½ Way to St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday, Sept. 12 starting at 3 p.m.
The parade, which will feature local community groups, bagpipe bands, fire departments and more, will kick off at the Northside Elementary School and continue a half-mile down Main Street.
The parade’s grand marshal will be State Senator Kevin Thomas.
“We are honored to have New York State Senator Kevin Thomas as the parade grand marshal and look forward to a great parade and 1/2 way to St. Patrick’s Day community celebration in Farmingdale Village,” said Farmingdale Village Mayor Ralph Ekstrand.
