Lidl opening two new Long Island stores

Shoppers in Shirley and West Babylon will be able to visit new Lidl stores opening in their neighborhoods later this month.

The discount grocery chain will open Lidl food markets at 800 Montauk Highway in Shirley on Wednesday, Sept. 22 and at 531 Montauk Highway in West Babylon on Wednesday, Sept. 29.

Grand opening events will begin at 7:40 a.m. on each of the opening days.

The first 100 customers at each of the new stores will receive gift cards ranging from $5 to $100 each. Shoppers can also enter to win a $500 Lidl gift card and take part in special giveaways.

To celebrate the grand openings, Lidl will donate 50 cents to the John Theissen Children’s Foundation for every new myLidl member who signs up and sets either of the new stores as their home store. The foundation helps Long Island children in need.
