Theater group presents ‘By Candlelight’ at Molloy College

SHTARKcontrast, a Woodmere-based community theater company, will present “By Candlelight” at The Madison Theatre at Molloy College in Rockville Center this month.

The nonprofit Jewish community theater group was founded in 2019 by Jennifer Lanter Winkler, a long-time high school drama director.

The theater company was able to present two live productions before live entertainment was sidelined by COVID. The company will be welcoming audiences back on Sunday, Nov. 21 at 3 p.m. with the special, in-person performance of “By Candlelight” at Molloy.

The play, written by Claudia Haas and directed by Winkler, is a tribute about the events of Sept. 11, 2001.
