IKEA Long Island hosting toy drive

IKEA Long Island in Hicksville is hosting a toy donation drive to support the John Theissen Children’s Foundation.

The Hicksville store has set up a donation house next to its Swedish Food Market, which will be there through Dec. 31.

Community members are encouraged to donate toys that will help the foundation stock their shelves with items to distribute this holiday season to sick and underprivileged children.

IKEA has hosted toy drives for the children’s nonprofit since 2016 and has donated over 2,000 toys.

“Being a good neighbor and demonstrating commitment to community is an essential part of who we are at IKEA and the values that drive us as an organization,” IKEA Long Island Market Manager Amy Jensen said in a written statement. “For this reason, we are honored, whenever we have the opportunity to help impact the lives of the members of the communities we serve.”
