Animal shelter participating in Betty White Challenge
The Town of Islip Animal Shelter and Adopt-A-Pet-Center is participating in the Betty White Challenge.
The nationwide challenge, created to honor the beloved actress and animal rights activist’s 100th birthday, asks people to donate $5 to any animal shelter or animal rescue organization on Jan. 17.
The Islip Animal Shelter and Adopt-A-Pet Center is inviting people to either mail $5 to the animal shelter or choose from one of the items available on the shelter’s Amazon Wish List. All items purchased from the Wish List ship for free to the animal shelter. Monetary donations to the shelter will be used to purchase bedding, toys, food and other animal necessities.
Donations of $5 should be marked with “Betty White Challenge” and mailed to the Islip Animal Shelter, 200 South Technology Drive, Central Islip, N.Y. 11722.
