Time to welcome Huntington Station clock tower

Local elected officials were joined by business and civic leaders last week at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new clock tower in Huntington Station.

The Huntington Station Business Improvement District donated the electric clock tower, along with accompanying plantings, pavers and mulch, located on the corner of Pulaski Road and New York Avenue.

“I’m particularly proud of this clock tower because I look at it as something that’s going to be everlasting,” said Frank Cosentino, president of the Huntington Station BID. “I’m especially proud of all our fellow board members and all the work they do. I really appreciate this day in support of permanent improvements to our downtown.”

Huntington Station has been undergoing a revitalization effort for its downtown for several years. In December, $22.2 million from American Rescue Plan Act funds were transferred to Suffolk County for the construction of the Huntington Station Hub Sewer Infrastructure Project, spanning the New York Avenue/Route 110 Corridor from the Huntington LIRR station to 14th Street with additional adjacent parcels to the east and west, according to a town statement.
