The Association of Fire Districts of Nassau County donated 4,000 pounds of medical supplies that is being shipped to the frontlines in Ukraine.
The 20-foot shipping container full of necessary supplies is being transported by the Terry Farrell Foundation to a local port, and will reach the people of Ukraine through the fire districts’ partnership with St. Vladimir’s Parish Center in Uniondale.
“Every day we see the horrific situation in Ukraine getting worse and worse,” Ralph Raymond, North Massapequa Fire Commissioner and president of the Association of Fire Districts of Nassau County, said in a written statement. “But the outpouring of support and overwhelming generosity of our firefighters in Nassau County has only grown stronger. Thank you to the brave men and women of our fire service for making this incredible donation of vital, lifesaving supplies to help the freedom fighters and refugees in Ukraine who desperately need them.”
