5K run to benefit Hope for Youth

Hope for Youth will host its annual Run for Hope 5K fundraising event on Saturday, Oct. 1 at Heckscher State Park in East Islip.

Participants in the event, which starts at 9 a.m. and takes place rain or shine, are invited to run, walk, or volunteer to raise funds for services in support of the organization’s Runaway and Homeless Youth Shelter program.

Awards will be given in male and female categories within seven age groups ranging from 16 and younger to 71 and older. A virtual option for those not taking part in the race in person is available.
