Deck the Poles holiday event returns to Farmingville

Farmingville residents are once again invited to decorate lamp posts for the holidays during the hamlet’s Deck the Poles event.

Organized by the Farmingville Hills Chamber of Commerce, participants can sign up on the chamber’s website and bring their own ladders, while the decorations will be provided free at Triangle Park on Sunday, Dec. 4 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Each person or family will be allocated only one lamppost along County Road 16, Farmingville’s main thoroughfare. Requests for more than one lamp post will be granted based on availability.

Last year, the effort decorated more than half of Farmingville’s lamp posts and the chamber is aiming to get them all decked out this year.

Volunteers can only decorate the lamp posts on Sunday, Dec. 4 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. To sign up visit: farmingvillechamber.com/Lampposts.html
