Lidl launches summer price-cutting drive

The Lidl discount grocery chain has launched a summer price-cutting drive at its 24 stores in Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Now through Labor Day, Lidl shoppers on Long Island will save up to 58 percent on more than 150 items including fish, bakery products, cereal, cheeses, coffee, snacks, and other household essentials.

The price-cutting drive comes as Long Islanders express concern about the rising cost of groceries.

“We are firmly committed to giving customers on Long Island the best possible prices especially when many residents are concerned about inflation,” Stefan Schwarz, Lidl US chief product officer, said in a company statement. “Through this price-cutting drive, families can spend less time worrying about the cost of groceries and more time planning and enjoying their summer vacation.”
