Power to Feed campaign rolls on

The 2023 Power to Feed food drive continues with two more collection locations next month.

For the third year, PSEG Long Island is partnering with Island Harvest to fight hunger and food insecurity with community volunteers and Stop & Shop.

The Power to Feed campaign set a goal this year to collect enough food to provide more than 50,000 nutritious meals. Beginning in June collection drives have been set up at Stop & Shop supermarkets on Long Island, where people have donated non-perishable food and essential care items.

The next two collection drives will take place on Friday, Sept. 1 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Stop & Shop at 3126 Jericho Turnpike in East Northport and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15 at the Stop & Shop at 365 Route 109 in West Babylon.

Last year, the Power to Feed Long Island initiative raised the equivalent of 42,616 meals, nearly 43 percent more than its 30,000-meal goal.
