Barista Throwdown at The French Workshop

Artisan bakery The French Workshop is launching its first-ever Barista Throwdown.

The event, scheduled for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 28 at the chain’s Wantagh shop at 1187 Wantagh Ave., aims to showcase the talents of the bakery café’s baristas from across all four of its locations in Queens and Long Island.

The winning barista will get $500 and earn the title of The French Workshop’s Master Barista.

Tickets to the Barista Throwdown are $5. Raffles will also be sold at the event featuring prizes from The French Workshop and the contest’s sponsor Barista Magazine.

Founded in December 2015 by two families, The French Workshop has locations in Garden City, Plainview, Wantagh and Bayside, Queens.
