Long Island Restaurant Week kicks off this month

Grab your forks foodies, another Long Island Restaurant Week kicks off this month.

The tri-annual event that offers meal deals at dozens of area eateries will be held from Sunday, Oct. 29 through Sunday, Nov. 5.

Each participating restaurant has the option to offer its own unique two-course lunch menu for $24, and/or three-course dinner menu for $29, $39 or $46 every day it is open, except Saturday when it is offered only until 7 p.m. Held every fall, winter and spring, this year’s fall campaign will have nearly 250 participants, according to its organizers.

First started in 2006 as an annual fall event designed to garner positive publicity and additional business for the region’s restaurants, the initiative expanded in 2011 with a spring restaurant week and a winter restaurant week was added in 2016.

Long Island Restaurant Week is presented by Long Island Restaurant & Hospitality Group, the business-to-consumer promotions division of WordHampton Public Relations. In its first year, total restaurant revenue from the eight-day event was estimated to be more than $2.84 million.
