Concert series offers free live music at local libraries
The Distinguished Artists Concert Series offers free music and dance performances at several community libraries.
The series, which is sponsored by the Cultural and Performing Arts division of the Town of Oyster Bay’s Department of Community & Youth Services, continues this season and into next spring.
Scheduled performances for December and January include the following shows:
Sunday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. at the Hicksville Public Library – Copperline performs songs written and made famous by James Taylor.
Saturday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. at the Massapequa Public Library – Vincent Roccaro & His Jazz Trio perform songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Louis Prima, Bobby Darin, and more.
Sunday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. at the Bethpage Public Library – Stan Wiest performs holiday music, shares humorous stories and audience sing-a-longs.
Sunday, Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. at the Syosset Public Library – Way Back When performs favorite songs from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s. Registration is required. Visit: https://syosset.librarycalendar.com/events/month and select the date of the concert to register.
Sunday, Jan. 7 at 2:30 p.m. at the Farmingdale Public Library – The Gypsy Felons Acoustic Trio performs hit songs from the ‘60s and ‘70s and shares some interesting stories behind the music.
Sunday, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Jericho Public Library – Lee Glantz performs hit songs from the ‘60s and ‘70s and tells the stories behind the music. Free tickets are available at the library beginning Dec. 22.
