Patchogue arcade plays games for Parkinson’s

This year on World Parkinson’s Day, one local pinball arcade isn’t playing around.

That’s because on Thursday, April 11, flippers and free plays at a local pinball arcade will raise awareness and help fight for a cure.

Pinball Long Island, an arcade that features about 100 vintage and modern-day pinball machines, has announced they will be donating a portion of its revenue to The Michael J. Fox Foundation on World Parkinson’s Day, April 11.

“Parkinson’s is a serious issue,” says Josh Guskin, owner of Pinball Long Island. “It’s a disease that doesn’t just affect those who are diagnosed — it affects their loved ones as well.”

Guskin is no stranger to its impact. His father, grandfather and uncle have all battled Parkinson’s disease.

The event is also meant to draw attention to the disease and efforts to fund more research into the neurodegenerative disorder, as April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month.

Pinball Long Island, located at 48 West Main St. in Patchogue, is open most days from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m with some extended hours on weekends. Unlimited all-day admission is $20 for adults and $10 for kids.
