Matching donors spare some change to raise over $30K for Kitty Cove

More than 100 bowlers were playing a few frames for furry friends at Maple Lanes RVC in Rockville Centre last month.

That’s where the Long Beach Humane Society, which is also known as Kitty Cove, recently held their successful bowling fundraiser, raising a total of $30,240, thanks in large part to gifts from two anonymous matching donors.

“I am so thankful for the outpouring of support from everyone,” said Kitty Cove Director Helen Henry Aloi in a written statement. “I would also like to thank the Galvin family for the incredible job they did for the bowling fundraiser and everything they do for the animals.”

This year’s event was Kitty Cove’s seventh annual bowling fundraiser, which also offered raffle prizes for supporters who did not bowl.

Located in Island Park, the Long Beach Humane Society/Kitty Cove rescues abandoned and abused cats and dogs and seeks to transition them into loving forever homes. The organization houses cats at its shelter, and cats and dogs in temporary foster homes.
