FCA welcomes two new board members
Family & Children’s Association (FCA), a Long Island health and human services nonprofit, recently announced the addition of Kara Cannon, CEO of Enzo Biochem and John M. Dionisio, vice chairman of Global Infrastructure Solutions Inc., to its board of trustees.
Kara Cannon, a resident of Massapequa, has over 30 years of experience in the life sciences industry at Enzo Biochem, Pall Corporation and Dynal Corporation. She serves on the board of directors for New York Bio and the foundation board for Farmingdale State College, and is an advisor to the School of Health Professions at the New York Institute of Technology. Cannon is also a founding member of a New York-based mentoring program for life sciences entrepreneurs affiliated with Stony Brook University.
Her career achievements have been repeatedly recognized as one of the Top 50 Long Island Most Influential Women in Business and as one of the Top 25 Women Leaders in Biotechnology.
“I’m thrilled to be joining FCA’s board,” said Cannon. “It’s an honor to be part of such a passionate group of people who are working to better Long Island.”
John M. Dionisio, a Garden City resident, is the co-founder and vice chairman of Global Infrastructure Solutions Inc., a privately owned business that invests in and helps grow engineering and construction management companies. One of these companies, the Structure Tone Organization, is the largest privately held U.S. construction management company, which recently oversaw construction of a new engineering building at Hofstra University.
A professional engineer for more than 50 years, John joined AECOM, a global engineering company, fresh out of college and worked there for 45 years, retiring as chairman and CEO in 2015. During his tenure, AECOM, doubled its workforce and tripled its revenue to $10 billion, while expanding its service offerings and geographic reach.
In 2008, he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers.
“I am truly grateful to be a part of an organization whose mission it is to protect and strengthen Long Island’s most vulnerable,” said Dionisio.
FCA President and CEO Jeffrey L. Reynolds, welcomed the newest members to the board. “We’re so fortunate to welcome Kara and John to the Board of Trustees,” Reynolds said. “As Long Islanders, they’re familiar with the growing challenges of the region and are committed to helping us make a difference right here at home.”
