Long Island contractor donates turkeys and fixings to mobile food pantry
In the spirit of giving this Thanksgiving season, Bohemia-based contractor King Quality Roofing and Siding is partnering with Lighthouse Mission, a Long Island mobile food pantry, to support food insecure families during the holidays.
This year, King Quality is donating 120 turkeys and fixings, which will be distributed to local families on Monday, Nov. 25 at 12:30 p.m. at 565 Portion Road in Lake Ronkonkoma. Twenty King Quality employees will be on site, volunteering to hand out the holiday meals.
The company has donated turkeys to Bellport-based Lighthouse Mission for over 10 years. The annual initiative is part of King Quality Cares, the contractor’s philanthropic arm dedicated to supporting charities and community organizations in Long Island.
“Everyone at King Quality looks forward to our annual tradition of handing out meals and helping to make Thanksgiving a little brighter for Long Island families,” said CEO Jeff Brett. “We’re honored to team up with Lighthouse Mission and support their meaningful work of not just providing food but also bringing hope to neighbors who need it most.”
To date, Lighthouse Mission has distributed more than 4,000 Thanksgiving meals and turkeys to local families, but the need continues to grow as more Long Islanders experience food insecurity.
“We’re so thankful for King Quality’s annual commitment to provide meals and hope to neighbors in need this Thanksgiving,” said pastor Jim Ryan of Lighthouse Mission. “This year, we’re seeing a surge in food demand across Long Island and encourage others to consider donating food or funds to help struggling families this holiday season and beyond.”
