Long Island Ducks spread holiday cheer to children in hospitals
Members of the Long Island Ducks visited children in pediatric units at multiple area hospitals last week to deliver donated toys for the holiday season.
The group made stops at Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore and Stony Brook Children’s Hospital in Stony Brook.
Ducks mascot QuackerJack and team manager Lew Ford stopped by numerous rooms to greet children and hand out gifts that were donated by Ducks fans during the month of December. Several kids and their families took photos with the duo and talked about the upcoming 25th anniversary Season of Ducks baseball. Additionally, QuackerJack and Ford met some of the newest Ducks fans in the maternity ward at South Shore University Hospital.
The Long Island Ducks are entering their 25th Anniversary season of play in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Fairfield Properties Ballpark in Central Islip.
