Wells Fargo grand opening gives $50K to United Way

Wells Fargo held a grand-opening celebration for its newest Long Island branch this week.

The event was held on Thursday, Jan. 9 at the new Wells Fargo branch at 1020 Port Washington Blvd. in Port Washington. This is the 12th Wells Fargo branch on Long Island, according to a company statement.

To celebrate the branch opening, Wells Fargo awarded a $50,000 grant to the United Way of Long Island in support of their Family Support Project program, which helps families remain in their homes, and children remain in their schools.

“We are so excited to open our newest branch on Long Island,” Silvia Lara, District Branch Network senior manager at Wells Fargo, said in a written statement. “Our New York branch expansion is designed to offer more resources to our customers across the state. This is another step forward in that commitment and we are thrilled to be part of the Port Washington community.”
